Hello!
Another amazing opportunity Girlguiding is offering me! I am Laura Ede and I am extremely excited to be representing the voices of our members at the World Conference in a Hong Kong this July. I have experienced so many fantastic opportunities, but this is going to be hard to beat!
I have been progressively more involved with Girlguiding over the years, but since become involved in 4 (Girlguiding's peer education programme) I truly believe my blood is a funny bluey turquoise mixture! A few years ago I became a member of the National committee (4CaST) and through this was able to help influence the strategic direction ensuring that the members voices were heard and changes reflected the thoughts of many. I was so passionate about peer education and wanting to develop 4 I was elected as Chair of the national committee in June 2012. Since then my mission has been to grow and develop 4 to enable as many members as possible to benefit from the fantastic programme which it offered. I have been very involved in the Free Being Me programme, and am proud to help our members tackle image myths to become body confident. I hope to share Girlguiding's vision for peer education with with rest of the delegates at the World Conference so other Member Organisations can also benefit from a simple but very effective method of delivery.
It is a privilege to represent all members of Girlguiding, and I hope we do you proud!
